By having your dog groomed with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
Registration Agreement

It is a prerequisite for all clients using Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming services to complete a client registration. It is important that all information provided is correct and complete and you must make us aware of anything we need to know about your dog's behaviour and health. Please advise us of any relevant changes each time your dog visits us. Completion of client registration confirms your agreement to our terms and conditions and that we may rely on the information provided. We will not share your details with other organisations. We may contact you via phone, text, or e-mail to inform you of any news regarding our services. We may also photograph or video your dog and use these images on our website and/or social media. Please let us know if you do not want us to use images of your dog. All dogs must be microchipped, have up-to-date vaccinations, including kennel cough, and be wormed and deflead regularly

Grooming Appointments

Ruff Mutt Dog Grooms are by appointment only. All appointments require a £20 deposit to secure the appointment when booking. The deposit can be carried over to your next booking or deducted from the final groom charge. The deposit secures against any missed or cancelled appointments and will not be refunded unless over 48 hours notice is given. Prices shown are for guidance only and based upon the time taken to groom a well-behaved dog that is groomed regularly and with their coat in good condition. Additional costs may be incurred for badly matted or difficult to manage dogs. The final groom price will be confirmed at end of the groom. Please ensure that your dog has had a chance to toilet before your appointment. You agree that your dog is fit and healthy, and up-to-date with vaccinations. Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming will not subject any dog to unacceptable levels of stress. If your dog finds any part of the grooming process too stressful that part will not be completed. During your dog's groom there is always a possibility that an accident may occur. Grooming equipment is very sharp and even though we take great care, problems can arise including cuts, nicks, scratches, cutting of nails etc, in most cases this is because your dog moves whilst being groomed and this can't always be anticipated. In the event an accident occurs we will instruct a vet to treat the dog as necessary. Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming accepts no responsibility or liability for the costs and the owner shall accept full responsibility for the expenses incurred, or any future expenses relating to the injury. We will inform the owner immediately if a vet is required.

Payments Policy

Payments will be made on the completion of the groom.

We only accept card and cash payments.

De-Matting Policy

If a dog's coat is severely matted it is our policy to have the whole coat shaved using clippers with a close blade in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. De-matting causes tremendous stress and discomfort, therefore shaving the coat is quicker and more gentle on the dog. If a complete clip-off needs to be performed Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming will notify you before doing so. The owner should be aware that irritation and skin tears may occur as a result of the clipping process. The owner agrees that Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming shall not be held liable for any after grooming effects of matt clipping procedures, or problems “uncovered” on a badly matted neglected coat. The owner shall agree to pay all costs for the grooming of the dog including removal of the matted areas, whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job. The charge for clipping off the coat will vary depending on the time taken. This will be discussed at the appointment. Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse to groom any dog that we deem to be too severely matted to safely carry out a clip off of the coat.

Aggressive Behaviour

Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse to groom any dog that displays aggressive behaviour. When booking, you must inform us if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggressive tendencies. If a dog is aggressive whilst being groomed, the owner will be requested to remove the dog at whatever stage of the groom. In that instance, the deposit will not be refunded but taken as payment. If we believe we are at risk of being bitten, we reserve the right to muzzle your dog.

Flea Policy

Please check your dog for fleas before your grooming appointment. If we find fleas on your dog you will incur a charge of £20 on top of the grooming fee. This is due to us having to use a specialised flea treatment shampoo and our van and premises will have to be deep cleaned to prevent cross-contamination before the next appointment.

Pre-Existing Conditions

We require you to inform us regarding any physical and/or medical conditions such as (elbow or hip dysplasia, epilepsy, etc). We require you to inform us of any allergies and/or skin conditions. The grooming of sick or elderly dogs is entirely at the owner's risk. We require you to inform us if your dog is pregnant. We may not agree to groom your dog if we feel it will cause the dog too much distress. We do not accept responsibility for any problems with the pregnancy during or after the groom has taken place. Pregnant dogs will only be accepted to groom at the owners risk.

Parking Policy

Ruff Mutt Mobile Dog Grooming requires a parking space equivalent to two car lengths or a drive of similar length. The customer is responsible that the space is safe and accessible. The customer is responsible for any parking charges, permits if required, or parking fines if incurred. Ruff Mutt Mobile Dog Grooming requires the ability to plug directly into the home's electricity supply (plug socket). This cannot be via an extension cable. If parking has not been secured and we are unable to park safely the appointment will be cancelled and the deposit will be forfeited.

Appointment Timings

Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming will endeavour to be always on time. In the event of a delay, we will contact you as soon as possible. If the appointment is beyond 1 hour late you can cancel and move your appointment to another time or day. A delay is not good for us but sometimes can't always be avoided. If you are running late we would ask that you inform us immediately. Your lateness may cause a knock-on effect on our later appointments. Because of this, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and forfeit your deposit.

Privacy Policy

Ruff Mutt Dog Grooming collects your personal information for our use only. We will not share this information with any third parties or organisations. We may take photographs and videos of your dog before and after its groom. These images may be used for our website and/or social media for marketing and promotional purposes only. If you would prefer us not to share images of your dog please inform us at the time of booking.

Animal Transportation & Housing

All dogs are transported in an appropriate crate suitable for their size. Whilst at HQ they will be housed in individual pens, unless from the same family where they will be housed together.
